In June the World Bank bought 350 Climate Game units for an endomarketing campaign at their headquarters, in Washington DC (USA). The games were distributed to educate the bank’s employees.
The Climate Game is a board game about the carbonic gas excessive emission to the atmosphere and the resulting global warming that it has been generating. While playing it, the participants must save the world from the eminent destruction. They must ally strategy, persuasion and diplomacy to reach their common objective. The Climate Game is all about competition and cooperation.
The game promotes competition: the winner is the player who annuls his/her carbonic gas (CO2) emissions. However, all participants have to work together not to let green house effect gases exceed the maximum level our planet can bare, and not to terminate the world’s natural resources. If this level is reached, the temperature on Earth will raise in a way that every single living organism will die, and than all players lose.
